Turtleneck Colorblock Sweater free Knitting Pattern

Looking for a free knitting pattern that's oversized, cozy, and completely on-trend? I'm so excited to share this one. This batwing-inspired sweater pattern combines a dramatic dropped-sleeve silhouette with a bold three-color colorblock design, and I designed it specifically to be the perfect knit for football season, tailgates, and team-color game day fits.

Whether you're knitting it for yourself or coordinating a whole squad, this pattern delivers major style payoff for relatively simple construction, which is exactly the kind of win I love handing off to you.

I made mine in Category #3 DK weight yarn (I used Lion Brand Jeans in a three-color palette: Stovepipe, Classic, and Top Stitch), and this free sweater pattern knits up at a 20 st x 27 row gauge over stockinette stitch on US 8 needles. I sized it to fit a 46–70" finished bottom circumference, because I wanted this one to cover a wide range of sizes so everyone in your knit night can make one.

This one's not a classic batwing - think batwing-inspired: a modern, oversized silhouette with dramatic dropped sleeves that taper into a fitted cuff, giving you the drama without the bulk. And with the three-color colorblock design, it's basically begging to be knit in team colors.

Football season, tailgates, game day - this sweater was made for it.
