NOTES:
READ THROUGH ENTIRE PATTERN BEFORE BEGINNING
This pattern is written for Adult Woman Extra Small. (Sizes Small, Medium & Large, 1X & 2X in parentheses)
This pattern is made in two panels; front & back bust and the skirt is added after assembly.
You will make one strap each for back and front and then attaching them to the opposite piece.
Assembly calls for Mattress Stitch Method, if you do not know this you can whip stitch instead.

FRONT & BACK BUST PANELS – Make 2:
MAIN COLOR:
Row 1: Fhdc x 50 (54, 58, 62, 66, 70), (Leave long tail of approx. 10 inches. You will need this later for seaming). TURN.
Rows 2 - 20: Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), 49 (53, 57, 61, 65, 69)x hdc across for total 50 (54, 58, 62, 66, 70) hdc incl ch 2, TURN.

Begin Shaping Armhole:
Row 21 - 23:
Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), hdc2tog 2 times, hdc across to last 5 stitches then [hdc2tog] 2 times, hdc in last st; 4 stitches decreased each row, 38 (42, 46, 50, 54, 58) stitches remain. TURN
Rows 24 – 28 (29, 30, 31, 32, 33): Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), hdc2tog, hdc across to last 3 stitches then hdc2tog, hdc in last st; 2 stitches decreased, 28 (30, 32, 34, 36, 38) stitches remain. TURN
Row 29 (30, 31, 32, 33, 34): Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), hdc across total 28 (30, 32, 34, 36, 38), incl ch 2. TURN
Row 30 (31, 32, 33, 34, 35): Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 9) hdc, 16 (16, 16, 18, 18, 18) sc, 6 (7, 8, 8, 9, 10) hdc TURN.

Make Strap:
Rows 31 (32, 33, 34, 35, 36) – 47 (48, 49, 50, 51, 52):
Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) x hdc, TURN.
Fasten off – leaving long tail for assembly.

TOP ASSEMBLY:
Marry your two panels and this will now be INSIDE OUT
Using your stitch marker or fastener, pin sides of panels together at Row 21.
Using your long tail from the bottom, and using mattress stitch method, attach the sides working from the bottom to the fastener on each side.
Using mattress stitch, connect the straps one to the back and one to the front.

TURN RIGHT SIDE OUT TO CONTINUE IN THE ROUND
You will now be working in the round with joined rounds. Join each round with sl st to complete – BUT DO NOT TURN YOUR WORK.

With bust right side out, after assembled: Attach yarn at center stitch of lower back, then:

Rounds 1 - 10:
Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), 99 (107, 115 123, 131, 139)x hdc around, sl st to join to ch 2 for total 100 (108, 116, 124, 132, 140) hdc incl ch 2.

CHANGE TO CONTRAST COLOR:
Rounds 11-12:
Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), 99 (107, 115 123, 131, 139)x hdc around, sl st to join to ch 2 for total 100 (108, 116, 124, 132, 140) hdc incl ch 2.

INCREASE FOR HIPS
Round 13:
Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), hdc around, increasing 3 (3, 4, 4, 4, 5) hdc evenly across round, sl st to top of Ch 2 to join, 103 (111, 120, 128, 136, 145) hdc.
Round 14: Ch 2 (acts as first hdc), hdc around, increasing 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) hdc evenly across round, sl st to top of Ch 2 to join, 106 (114, 123, 132, 140, 149) hdc.

SKIRT – continue in contrast color
Round 1:
Ch 2 (acts as dc), [dc, ch 2, dc, dc] in same; then ch 3, skip 2 hdc, sc in next hdc, ch 5, skip 2 hdc, sc in next hdc, ch 3, skip 2 hdc then [dc, dc, ch 2, dc, dc] in next hdc, * ch 3, skip 2 hdc, sc in next hdc, ch 5, skip 2 hdc, sc in next hdc, ch 3, skip 2 hdc, [dc, dc, ch 2, dc, dc] in next hdc * / Repeat * to * around and sl st to top of ch 2 to complete round. Pattern will be repeated 12 (13, 14, 15, 16, 17) times across round.
Round 2: Sl st into ch 2 sp, ch 2 (acts as dc), [dc, ch 2, dc, dc] in same; then ch 5, skip ch 3 sp, sc into ch 5 sp, ch 5, skip ch 3 sp and 2 dc, * [dc, dc, ch 2, dc, dc] into ch 2 sp, then ch 5, skip ch 3 sp, sc into ch 5 sp, ch 5, skip ch 3 sp and 2 dc * Repeat * to * around, and sl st to top of ch 2 to complete round.

FINISHING AND TRIM:
Neck Edging:

Attach MAIN color at back center of neckline , Then:
Ch 1, sc across working 1 sc in each hdc and 2 sc in each ch-2, sc in each hdc across the front neckline, sc in each hdc up the second strap and 2 sc in each ch-2, sc in each hdc across back neckline, sl st to beg ch 1.
CHANGE TO CONTRAST COLOR:
Ch 1, sc around neckline and sl st to ch 1 to join and complete. Fasten off.
For Each Arm Edging:
Attach MAIN color at back where strap begins , Then:
Ch 1, sc up the strap and around each armhole placing 1 sc in each hdc and 2 sc in each ch-2.
CHANGE TO CONTRAST COLOR:
Ch 1, sc around armhole and sl st to ch 1 to join and complete. Fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
