Continuing to explore my fiber art inspired by my love for NYC, the Lenox Crochet Shawl Free Crochet Pattern is named for Lenox Avenue where the Jazz Museum of Harlem is located.

Architecture and music have always inspired me and fed to my creative journey. And my life. Celebrating them together in the Lenox Crochet Shawl Free Crochet Pattern seemed too perfect. So of course I turned to my favorite NYC Indie Dyer, Stephanie of Asylum Fibers for the yarn for this beauty.

Materials
Category 3 DK weight yarn from Asylum Fibers
-Color A 240 yards 
-Color B 240 yards ** or you can use an additional skein of color A **
-Color C 240 yards
Crochet Hook Size  I/9 – 5.5mm
Tapestry needle to weave ends
Tape Measure

Stitches Used / Abbreviations:
ch – chain loop
sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet 2 together
st(s) – stitch(es)
sk – skip
dc – double crochet

GAUGE:  14 sts x 20 Rows in sc = 4” square (before blocking)
*** This shawl will grow a lot with wet blocking so keep that in mind when making it and gauge is not detrimental to the outcome as long as you have a fabric you like.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: BEFORE blocking Approx.:  48”” x 46” x 62”
** Your shawl will grow considerably with blocking **

PATTERN NOTES:
Do not CUT yarn during color change after each row. 
During color change section you will start each row with a CH 2 instead of Ch 1·      
During color change section do NOT turn unless instructed. You will be picking up the colors where you left them off in the previous row.
You may see significant change in finished measurements after blocking. 
 This shawl begins at the tip with just 3 sc.

Color A:
Begin with magic circle or ch 3 and sl st together to form a circle.  Then in either the magic circle or ch 3:
Row 1: Ch 1 (does NOT count as stitch), 3 sc, Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1 (does NOT count as stitch), sc in sc, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc, Turn. 5 sts
Row 3: Ch 1 (does NOT count as stitch), sc across, Turn. 5 sts
Row 4: Ch 1 (does NOT count as stitch), sc across to last 2 sc, [2 sc] in last 2 sts of previous row, Turn. 2 sts inc’d, 7 sts
Row 5: Ch 1 (does NOT count as stitch), [2 sc] in lfirst sc, sc across to last 2 sc, sc2tog last 2 sts, Turn. 7 sts
Rows 6-153: Repeat Rows 4 & 5 alternating, ending with a Row 5. 111 sts 

COLOR CHANGE SECTION – Attach yarn through last st of previous row
