The best part of Stitch & Hustle are the incredible collaborations bringing together some of the most beauiful talent in our community. The Into The Deep Shawl collaboration features the lush and rich colorways from Stephanie of Asylum Fibers and the cable mastery of designer Makenzie Alvarez.

Makenzie is well known as the QUEEN of cables. I have been in AWE of her eye for texture and intrinsic cable work for years. Her vision for textured dimensional knitting is simply magical. So when we finally got the chance to work together on this design collaboration I was just full of joy!

Any of Makenzie’s cable designs will bring you glorious texture and design elements. She is truly a master at twists and turns and creating flowing shawls and accessories. What I love most about her shawls is that though they are “intermediate”, they are not intimidating. I feel like.. hey… I can try that.

For Into The Deep, she created a beautiful shape that you will feel so cozy all wrapped up in. I love how the texture runs throughout the entirety of the shawl so it is an ongoing journey in texture and stitching.

Stephanie from Asylum Fibers has created a series of beautiful colors and kits for this collaboration. The combination of Makenzie’s textured cable design and Stephanie’s rich tonal colorways create a stunning fabric that will surely turn heads every time you wear it.
