Let's Make A Flower Crown Headband

When I hosted Stitch Up Brooklyn, my dear friend Kristy Glass had the fun idea for the folks joining us on the Yarn Crawl to all make and wear Flower Headbands and Flower Crowns. She talks about it here and shows off her Flower Fascinator here. When I saw it - I got the idea that we need to make a flower crown for our community - you guys! And we knew exactly who we wanted to collaborate with to do it… Miss Nancy Ricci herself. Nancy is KNOWN for wearing beautiful flower headbands and crowns so it was just perfect!

What I loved most about making these is how plush and FULL each flower is. Nancy did an amazing job of coming up with a flower that would really be art as well. I just love it.

We used a fabulous single ply DK from Stunning Studio (thanks Stunning team for providing this yarn in a rainbow of colors). It created a fun bright array of flowers for us to choose from.

I also love how you can truly make it your own. Make 5 flowers like we did for a full crown / headband style. Or you can make 3 flowers like Kristy did and it is more of an accent than a full headband. And you can have so much fun playing with different fibers and textures in each flower.

So have fun and make your own flower story in your flower crown headband and share with us on social media with the tag #IMADEMYFLOWERCROWN
