PATTERN NOTES:
Pattern is written as for child size as shown. Adult size in parenthesis.

Dimensions:
CHILD: Finished hat is 10” wide and 10” long
ADULT: 12” wide and 12” long

The body of the hat is worked in rows. The band of the hat is worked in the round. This hat is very easy to adjust sizing to accommodate a wide range of head sizes. For a slouchier hat simply lengthen the foundation row. For a shorter hat remove stitches. For a bigger or smaller hat add more or less rows in multiples of 2 before seaming closed.

PATTERN:

Row 1: 32 (38) Fhdc OR Ch 33 (39), 1 Hdc in second Ch from hook and across. Turn. 32 (38 Hdc)

Rows 2-48 (54): Ch 1 (does not count as a St here and throughout). 1 Hdc in each St across. Turn. 32 (38 Hdc)

Fold your work in half.

Sl St the first and last rows together to join.

Your work is now a tube shape and the body of your hat is complete.

Weave the tail through the top of the tube and pull tight like a drawstring. Fasten off.
SEE THE HAT CLOSURE TUTORIAL HERE

Turn your work correct side out so that the seam is now on the inside of the hat.
