The Quick Bulky Scarf Free Pattern Tutorial

I had spotted the new super chunky giant yarn from Betta Knit in my social media feed so I was quite happy when they sent me a sample to try out.

I know most people like the big super yarn for arm knitting, but I wanted to crochet with it. I have this hand carved 25mm hook that has been begging me to use it so this seemed like the perfect project.

This yarn is interesting. It is like a machine knitted tube with stuffing to give it body and it works up easy and super fun. I like the way the knitted encasing makes it look. This scarf will work up in about 15- 20 minutes and is not too heavy. I think if you add another ball of yarn for more width or length it will get quite heavy. I found this to be perfect! So here we go....

THERE IS NO GAUGE FOR THIS PROJECT.

MATERIALS
25 MM crochet hook
1 Ball Super Large Betta Knit Arm Yarn
Coffee (because always coffee)

STITCHES USED:
ch - Chain
dc - Double Crochet

STEP 1: ch 42

STEP 2: ch 2

STEP 3: dc into 3rd ch from hook

STEP 4: 41 dc across to end

STEP 5: after final dc, pull up loop but do NOT fasten off

STEP 6: Join ends by pulling the loop from the last stitch through the top of the ch 2 that started the row.

Be very careful not to twist!

STEP 7: Pull tail through the loop then weave into first ch1 then back through the last dc
to complete the joining the ends.

STEP 8: Wrap tail around the join 4 times then slip the end through and secure with a knot on the inside of the wrap so it is hidden.

VOILA! Enjoy the quick bulky scarf.
