A Capsule of 6 Boho Style Crochet Patterns

About a year ago I had this idea for a hippie inspired cascading vest after seeing an outfit someone wore to Coachella. That idea gave way to another idea (I love when that happens) to create a capsule collection around the inspiration for that vest. That gave way to the idea of collaborating with 2 designers I love and admire to create such a collection. I was beyond humbled and excited when Elena Sandina of Lenysea Crochet and Natalie Thomas of Detroit Knots BOTH said yes they would love to be part of this.

We worked with Stunning String Studio Yarns for these designs. They have a variety of yarns to suit each design I envisioned to make it a year ‘round collection! And now here we are; Launching the BoHo Capsule Collection: A collection of six pieces to make and wear that will accent your staple wardrobe and show off your Boho Style throughout the year.

I truly could not be happier or more proud of how this collaboration came together. Each of these pieces reflects the designer and the overall vision of the collaboration. That is just so magical and I hope you love each design and make them all!

Some will tell you that the idea of a Capsule Collection was put on the fashion map by Donna Karan who, in the early 1980’s, took the idea of a Capsule Collection to the masses with a seven piece collection of work wear for women. The way she presented this collection was genius (to me) and what I based this collection on. The idea that if you wear only a pair of jeans and solid tank top, you can take any or a few of these items and accent your staples in style and show off that BoHo love!

Sometimes when Elena Sandina of Lenysea Crochet puts out a design I have to stop and stare in awe of the beauty of her work. The drape her patterns create and the flow of the design always impress me. The Mia Shawl is just an example of the talented design work Elena brings to this collaboration. The Mia is a beautiful open stitchwork shawl that features Stunning String Moody and Pink colors.

I love the semi circle shape and how it is that perfect accent piece.

The Leila Babydoll Top is another masterpiece Elena adds to this BoHo Collection. Made in three colors you can show off your color flare or make it in your favorite solid and have a new staple piece in your wardrobe. You can even go the extra mile and make it into a summer dress by adding more of the repeat rounds!

The Indio Cascading Vest is the one that started this whole shebang. I had this idea for a cascading long flowing vest for a while. Paired with the new Twinkle DK Yarn from Stunning String and I am in love with how it came out! Truly how I envisioned.

The BoHo In The City Wrap is inspired by me, a BoHo in the city on those days I lived and worked in New York City. I would often walk by the Hearst Building and that is the inspiration for this piece. It is an extra wide wrap made in the Stunning String Luxury DK yarn which has a hint of cashmere - perfect for the city chic luxury BoHo gal!

(and go have a look at the Hearst Building … you will see it in the stitches)

I have had the incredible honor of working with Natalie Thomas of Detroit Knots on a few collaborations and each time she blows me away with her talent. I knew this collection would be no different when I invited her to be part of it. I was right! Natalie’s Cresting Waves Shawl is simply amazing. I love how she created such a subtle and perfect texture. Want to go big? Just add in another skein or two and this will be the perfect way to wrap yourself up through fall.

Natalie has a way of making me go “WOW” and when she designed this Stunning Tunic with functional pockets that is exactly what I said. I also love the color blocking style and wide sleeves.

I SAID FUNCTIONAL POCKETS.

I could not be happier with this collaboration. It is more than I ever dreamed when I thought it up so long ago. Six pieces to keep your handmade BoHo style through the seasons. I know that you will love making and wearing each of these beautiful designs.

I hope you love it as much as I do.
